June is Internet Safety Month, providing an opportunity to draw attention to the need for ongoing education and consumer awareness of online safety. This month there will be a number of government, industry and non-profit organization initiatives to help further the education and awareness of consumers about online safety. As technology advances, we need to make sure consumers are informed about how to keep themselves and their children safe online. Internet Safety Month serves as an important reminder to consider the information we are putting online, and how we might be revealing more information than we intend; awareness is a major goal of the Consumer Privacy Awareness project. Consumers need to be continuously educated about how to protect themselves online; it’s one of our most important Internet safety issues

June is Internet Safety Month. I stumbled upon a great program that John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted, is the spokesman for. It’s Cox Take Charge! Every year, they take kids to Washington D.C. for a summit where they meet with legislators and John Walsh to discuss the importance of Internet safety.
